The Board consists of seven members, five of whom are elected by winegrape growers and two appointed by the then NSW Minister for Agriculture now Minister for Primary Industries. There is no requirement that elected Board members must be winegrape growers. At present, elected and appointed members serve a term of four years. The date of expiry of the term of appointment of the current elected members is 2 February 2013, appointed members 2 February 2011.
After the terms of office of the appointed members the Board under its new legislation will be able to appoint members to the Board.

The Board employs a full time Chief Executive Officer to undertake duties as instructed by the Board and to ensure compliance of the Board in accordance with Statutory Obligations.
The current Chief Executive Officer of the Board since June 2000 is Mr Brian Simpson B.Bus (Ag. Comm.) bsimpson(at)wgmb.net.au

The role of the position is to actively represent all research and development issues of the region at both State and Federal forums. The IDO also undertakes a high degree of grower liaison and field and laboratory work on projects for the industry.

The Technical Officer's role is primarily to support the Industry Development Officer.
The Boards current Technical Officer as of February 2008 is John-Ross Wood, He has had involvement in the viticulture sector through his parents farm.

The Office Manager manages the winegrape grower payments in accordance with the Statutory Terms and Conditions of Payments. The position also manages all accounts and ensures the effective operation of the Board premises.
